Description

General Summary:

Drives company vehicle with trailer attached to deliver equipment to locations within the Company service territory. Loads and unloads material including video equipment and supplies. Organizes equipment by location to be shipped or delivered. Ensure materials are safely and properly loaded, unloaded, accounted for, and protected.
 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure materials are properly loaded onto truck and trailer with hand trucks or forklift. 
  • Secures and protects supplies and equipment to eliminate movement on truck and trailer while driving to designated locations.  
  • Delivers equipment and materials to locations throughout the service territory by driving a company provided vehicle with a trailer attached.
  • Unloads material and equipment at delivery location.
  • Ensures safe operation of motor vehicle.
  • Accounts for all inventory delivered to or picked up from Company locations.
  • Attend and participate in job safety and other training programs.

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of general loading, unloading, and freight securing principles.  
  • Knowledge of safe and effective operation of vehicles with trailers attached, including backing up.
  • Knowledge of GPS equipment to determine available routes.
  • Knowledge of company service territory.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Skills in operating various loading equipment safely.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand.
  • Ability to understand and verify requisitions, packing slips, and other records.
  • Ability to effectively function as a team player.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a valid driver's License and be insurable under Golden West's automobile insurance policy guidelines.

 

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent, plus experience driving a truck with trailer attached.  
 

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid SD driver’s license, have an excellent driving record, and be insurable under the company’s insurance policy. CDL preferred but not required.
