General Summary:
Golden West Technologies (GWT) is a business-to-business provider of technology services, focused on partnering with customers to proactively address their business and technology needs. Data/network, physical security and telephony are the three main areas of technology infrastructure that GWT installs, manages, and services for customers.
A Technology Support Specialist is a software application expert that provides both remote and onsite support for customer telephony and physical security applications and hardware. The primary function of this position is to configure, maintain and troubleshoot various telephony and security applications. Secondary duties include installing and maintaining equipment such as phone systems, phones, security systems, cameras, access control hardware, data switches, and servers. A specialist also integrates application software to add robust features to the base hardware. Specialists will achieve this by working onsite and remotely for a variety of customers.
A Technology Support Specialist will be knowledgeable in computers and networking and has a desire to learn new technology and skills. The software and hardware used at Golden West is specific to the company and its customer needs, therefore Golden West Technologies provides in-house, on-site, and classroom training for all products, services, and technology. A good candidate will be a continual learner with a desire to help customers and understand their needs. A successful applicant will be able to take that knowledge and implement software and hardware to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree in information technology or related field from a two-year college or technical school; or three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid South Dakota driver’s license, have an excellent driving record and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy.
Manufacturer Certifications as necessary, determined by the supervisor.

Working Conditions:
Good working conditions with the absence of disagreeable conditions. Climate controlled building with adequate lighting and space. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee will be required to work in all different types of weather conditions, both summer and winter.
