General Summary:

This position has both leadership and technical elements; working directly with internal and external customers in the sales cycle, along with managing a team of Solution Architects. The Solutions Manager (SM) is responsible for overseeing and managing the technological evaluation stage of the sales process and solutions adoption. Works in conjunction with the sales team and technical staff as the key technical advisor and advocate for company products and services. SM works with the Customer Vendor Advocate (CVA) team on key components and specifications for engineering and quoting. SM is responsible for the oversight of the evaluation of current and new solutions offered by the company.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide leadership and management for a team of Solutions Architects.
  • Develop and manage direct relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure the Golden West Technologies solutions are aligned with industry standards and customer goals and priorities.
  • Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, architectures and standards for obtaining solutions. Ensures scalability and profitability of technology solutions offered by Golden West Technologies.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of how the overall business solution is positioned, deployed and supported.
  • Collaborate with business partners to explore solutions to business challenges. Seek out systems solutions that can be leveraged to meet customer business requirements.
  • Use industry best practices and knowledge of Golden West products to develop solutions that meet customer priorities within budgetary, service level and product requirements.
  • Develops and delivers product demonstrations that provide customers with a holistic view of Golden West Technologies solutions.
  • Manage the delivery of business cases, scope and requirements documents, use-case documentation, test plans, and rollout communications.
  • Performs written and oral presentations for customer technology assessments.
  • Represent products and services to customers at various public events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for the organization, identifying, evaluating and recommending new products and services.
  • Develop and deliver training presentations for internal staff on new technology and products.
  • Responds to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  • Required to travel throughout sales territory as qualified through the sales process.
  • Identifies and develops new client leads to expand Golden West’s customer base.
  • Provide technical support for customers as needed.

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by Management.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, to include: public speaking and strong presentation skills, ability to respond professionally to inquiries, RFP’s, RFI’s, and emails, and ability to author technical reports and documents.
  • Exceptional cross-group collaboration and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate technology and product positioning to both technical and non-technical users.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution consensus building skills when dealing with customers, stakeholders and team members.
  • Demonstrate expertise using written & verbal communication skills to distill technology projects into understandable and compelling executive level presentations.
  • Ability to identify and explore customer needs, to include current and changing business processes and potential risks to their business.
  • Excellent analysis and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to find creative and adaptable approaches to eliminate sales obstacles.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic technical atmosphere with rapidly expanding customer base.
  • Knowledge of general office protocol, along with Golden West products, services, policies and procedures.

 

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s or technical degree in Business, Technology, Sales/Marketing or related field. Minimum of three years relevant experience in the technology and/or sales field. Experience and/or familiarity with latest technology products and services required. Minimum 5 years leadership experience.


Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

Must have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid South Dakota driver’s license, have an excellent driving record and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy.

Working Conditions:

Good working conditions with the absence of disagreeable conditions. Climate controlled building with adequate lighting and space. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
