The vCIO possesses a balance of technological and business acumen to help advise our clients, enabling them to achieve their company goals and objectives. The vCIO is a relationship builder who uses verbal and written communication to collaborate both internally with peers and to develop a meaningful and productive rapport with clients. The vCIO will use a standards-based approach, a methodical and objective manner and assorted processes and tools to aid client decision makers in their technology choices. Outside consultative sales experience with IT services and products, managed IT services or IT consulting are key for this position.

The Virtual Chief Information Officer I (vCIO I) provides administrative support to the vCIO II for strategic accounts and provides account management for non-strategic accounts. The vCIO I will be responsible for conducting internal technical prep meetings and periodic client reviews. This position requires maintaining client relations including ongoing account support, task management and holding periodic follow ups with account stakeholders.

Business acumen and the ability to interpret technological concepts for business owners and key stakeholders are critical for success in this role. A solid understanding of business risk and opportunity will allow the vCIO to conduct crucial conversations with key stakeholders about necessary technology investment.  A vCIO is a good listener and adept at making connections between business needs and technology solutions.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Build relationship (rapport, credibility, trust) with the client stakeholders.
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Review (QBR) technical prep meetings.
  • Conduct client QBR reviews.
  • Create QBR Action Items (Service Order, items documented in ITGlue and shared with the Network Operations Center.)
  • Answer questions related to the Master Service Agreement for clients.
  • Provide status checks on action items and other service orders for clients.
  • Provide direction for non-technical reactive support to the client.
  • Assist in the sales process for qualified Technology Leadership prospects.
  • Achieve and maintain a positive rapport and credibility with clients to achieve a high rate of business retention.
  • Engage appropriate technicians to identify potential projects to reduce the frequency of client issues.
  • Collaborate closely with technical peers to translate technical standards alignment results into a business-focused output demonstrating the risks and opportunities for each technology choice.
  • Engage with clients at the executive level to ensure technology needs are aligned with business goals.
  • Ensure business goals are mutually understood for any IT project undertaken.
  • Collaborate with peers including, but not limited to, the Standards Alignment/Network Administrator to align our IT standards with the client’s business.
  • Advise executive stakeholders on innovations and trends in the industry, along with strategic opportunities.
  • Facilitate meetings and strategic planning sessions with clients.
  • Aid in developing resources and practices that promote and enhance vCIO engagements.
  • Facilitate Baseline Technology Assessments to establish a basis for a technology gap analysis and communicate results to key stakeholders in an easily understandable and actionable way.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possess and maintain in-depth knowledge of IT alignment standards.
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge of the service offerings of Golden West Technologies with a keen understanding of best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of key technology metrics as it relates to business including Business Impact Analysis, Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI)
  • Ability to communicate complex IT concepts to non-technical buyers.
  • Ability to manage high-level project planning including goal clarification, budget, and managing multiple timelines
  • Knowledge of LAN, WAN and wireless technologies.
  • Knowledge of backup solutions and rotation techniques.
  • Customer focused interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
  • Ability to author reports.
  • Public speaking ability and strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to find creative and adaptable approaches to eliminate sales obstacles.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration preferred.

Minimum of three year’s relevant experience in the technology field. Minimum of two years sales and/or customer service experience preferred.

Experience and/or familiarity with latest technology products and services required. 

 

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

Must have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid South Dakota driver’s license, have an excellent driving record and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy.
