General Summary:

The primary function of this position is janitorial services. Physically cleans and performs custodial care of the Golden West Technologies main building and the Contact Service Center building. Ensures a clean, orderly office environment and maintains buildings and grounds. The employee will also perform routine maintenance on equipment and make minor repairs to premises and furnishings.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Cleans office buildings by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and emptying trash.
  • Performs janitorial services according to daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual schedule.
  • Maintains clean and orderly supply room, orders cleaning supplies and paper products. Stocks restrooms and kitchen areas with appropriate paper products.
  • Monitor CSC Training Room calendar for events needing table and chair set-up.
  • Performs routine maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures and performing simple repairs to furnishings as needed.
  • Schedules routine maintenance for heating and cooling systems, fire extinguishers, and weed and pest control.
  • Maintains buildings by inspecting and repairing minor plumbing, electrical, building fixtures and woodwork as needed.
  • Maintains grounds through mowing, weed control and disposing of trash.
  • Clears walkways to ensure safe passage. Repairs yards and fences as needed.
  • Performs all other duties per Maintenance Checklist.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by Management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and solutions.
  • Knowledge of general building and grounds repair and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Skilled in operating various hand and power tools.
  • Skilled in operating various grounds and maintenance equipment including, mower, weed trimmer, snow blower, truck and trailer.
  • Skilled in operating various cleaning equipment, including buffing and stripping.
  • Skilled in operating various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, fax and telephone systems.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to effectively function as a team player.
  • Ability to work after hours and/or weekends as needed for duties that cannot be performed during business hours.

 

Education and/or Experience:

 

Degree from a college or technical school, or at least one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Facilities maintenance and/or construction background a plus.

 

 

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

 

Must have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid South Dakota driver’s license, have an excellent driving record and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee will be required to work in all different types of weather conditions, both summer and winter.
